Description of Parameters

For the measurement of brow mobility (mimic) the effect of furrowing and/or pulling up the brows is determined. The distances between the brows and/or between eye and brow are given as proportion of the eye distance.

Eye distance

Fig. 1: Eye distance

The eye distance is determined automatically by finding the irides' centers in the image.

Horizontal distance between brows

Fig 2: Horizontal distance of brows

For the determination of the horizontal distance of the brows the length of the shortest connection between both brows is used.

In order to avoid dependence on single hairs, a minimal density of the eyebrows is supposed.

Distance between eye and brow

Fig 3: Distance between eye and brow

As distance between brows and eye the distance of iris center and upper edge of the brow is used perpendicularly over the iris.
